Borderlands Animated Short Films Now Available‏

Via Press Release:

Three all-new animated short films set in the popular Borderlands universe are now available for free on Machinima’s YouTube channel. The student-made shorts are a result of an exciting partnership between The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, video game publisher 2K, and the developer of the Borderlands franchise Gearbox Software. Through a project that began in March 2013 called Borderlands Cooperative, students at the Academy of Art experienced once-in-a-lifetime career development opportunities, and a chance to jump-start their careers in the video game industry with internships at 2K.

Additionally, you can go behind the scenes of these short films to see how they were made in The Art of the Game, a feature-length documentary that not only follows the students from the Academy of Art, but explores the passion, creativity, and change taking place in interactive entertainment, and its oftentimes misunderstood artistic culture. The Art of the Game features insight into the medium from some of the video game industry’s top talent, including Sid Meier, Randy Pitchford, Jake Solomon, Anthony Burch, Mikey Neumann, and many more.
